my name is dave. i am a 46 year old artist living in maine. i have never been to art school and as of this moment never had a show in a gallery. my grandmother was a painter and as a child i would watch, my mind captivated by the tubes of color, the brushes, and the smell of oils. one day my grandmother stretched a piece of wax paper over a piece of cardboard, and together we painted a boy on a sailboat in the ocean, and my grandmother told me to add just a little yellow ochre to the clouds...
and i have painted ever since.
